Andrew Baker


Andrew Baker founded Clovis in 2002, and is presently the firm's President & CEO. Combining communications management experience with exemplary creative skills and problem-solving ability, Andrew is client service director for Glencoe Capital, GaiaTech, Ernst & Young's Global Investigations & Dispute Advisory practice, Prairie Capital, McKenna Partners, and supervises work for all other Clovis clients. With ten years' experience in marketing communications consulting for professional firms, including for global accounting and consulting, private equity, law, and engineering firms, Andrew has experience in strategic marketing planning at local and global levels; media relations and strategy; creating and producing advertising for print, radio, and television; interactive marketing & communications; and leadership communications.

Until early 2002, Andrew was Manager of Creative Communications for Andersen Worldwide, the $9.3 billion professional services firm based in Chicago, where he helped coordinate and manage brand development initiatives that included global advertising, global collateral, and creative communications about the firm's new strategy and client service model. Previously, he planned and managed a $2+ million communications and advertising budget for the firm's flagship office in Chicago, including creating a full range of marketing communications, advertising and direct mail programs focused on driving revenue for financial business consulting, real estate services, and risk consulting and assurance practices.

Prior to joining Andersen, Andrew provided creative services to KPMG Consulting (now BearingPoint), Prairie Capital, A.T. Kearney, GaiaTech, EZLinks Golf, Prospect Partners, Motivity, and Jones Lang LaSalle. A copywriter and account manager at Brown Marketing Communications from 1996 to 1998, he created advertising and direct marketing programs for clients including Trans Union, Volkswagen, Principal Financial Group, Metromail, and Alternative Resources Corp. Born in the U.K., Andrew earned an A.B. (Honors) at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Communications at Northwestern University, and has taught courses in communications at Northwestern, Loyola University Chicago, National-Louis University, and The Feltre School.

Jennifer Harris


Jennifer Harris has 18 years' experience in media relations and marketing communications for clients in financial services, professional services, management consulting, real estate, mortgage lending and banking, technology consulting, and design and architecture. Jennifer advises on media planning and media relations and communications strategies for Clovis, helping coordinate efforts with other marketing initiatives including advertising, interactive programs and research. She also has extensive experience in conducting media training.

A versatile communications professional, Jennifer was formerly General Manager of Chaffee Group, Inc., a Midwest-based integrated marketing and media relations agency with more than 20 clients and $3.5 million in annual billings. Former clients include Stewart Title, the country's 4th largest real estate title company, along with Key Bank, iCap Realty Advisors, and Signature Associates. She is a past winner of the International Association of Business Communicators Award of Merit in Feature Writing (1999) and the District 3 (Washington DC) Award of Merit for Feature Writing (1998), Jennifer earned a B.A. in Public Policy at Duke University, and an M.A. in Literature from Northwestern University.

Steve Sandison


Steve Sandison joined Clovis in 2007 from JPMorgan Chase, where he led technology integration projects as the global financial institution consolidated and streamlined its mission-critical client-facing and back-office information systems after a series of large acquisitions. Before joining JPMorgan Chase, Sandison was the project manager at United Airlines responsible for launching www.flyted.com and EasyCheck-in online, United's award-winning online flight check-in capability, currently serving over 50,000 passengers per day. Prior to joining United Airlines, Sandison worked as an Internet strategy consultant, helping clients such as General Motors and ExxonMobil to use the capabilities of the Internet to expand their marketing and sales channels as well as their advertising reach. Before consulting, he worked at Information Resources, a consumer product sales and marketing research company, where he led a team of ten quality assurance specialists serving some of the company's largest customers, including Pepsico, Proctor & Gamble, Nabisco, M&M Mars, and Kellogg. Steve has a BBA from the University of Michigan, with a focus on accounting, finance, and technology, and is a PMP-Certified Project Manager.

Chris Yu


Experienced in all aspects of creative production for print and interactive media, Chris Yu began working with Clovis in June of 2002. Since then, he has worked on brand development projects for clients including GaiaTech, Ernst & Young, Midwest Mezzanine Funds, Midwest Commerce Solutions, Monti & Associates and McKenna Partners. Chris has more than six years' experience in design for print and interactive media. Prior to joining Clovis, he worked at Allstate's interactive design group, and before that was Lead Designer for Comark. Before that, Chris was a Graphic Designer for EthnicGrocer.com. Chris began his career at Rosa+Wesley Design, where he worked extensively on print publications and design for educational media; he has also done extensive design work for non-profit agencies. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Chris majored in Advertising, with a concentration in Graphic Design, and has also studied at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Todd August


Todd August has fifteen years of software and interactive development experience and more than eight years' experience in project management as a software development lead, user-case design and architecture, and quality control expert on large-sacle interactive projects. August was the lead developer on Clovis's recent project for Failaka Advisors, the first phase of which entailed designing and developing a financial information management system, secure global e-commerce transactions, administrative back-end for site management, and ongoing email marketing activities to solicit subscription-based memberships. August's skills include managing small-to-medium site development projects; he also has experience as a project manager on large corporate e-commerce and interactive sites, including a project lead for the online check-in functionality for one of the leading U.S.-based international airline companies – which online capability now handles more than 30% of that airline's daily check-in transactions. These high availability J2EE applications utilize a clustered WebLogic 8.1 environment for container and application management, JSPs and JSTL for serving dynamic HTML, Apache Struts actions for processing requests, utilized homegrown for client-side business rules engine (ROME) and a home-grown service broker application for interfacing with the Apollo mainframe. August also served as development lead for the world's leading airline and tourism loyalty program.

August's skills' include programming capability in JAVA, JSTL, C++/C, Korn Shell, PL/SQL, JavaScript, HTML, ANT, Perl, and work in modeling language UML. He is deeply familiar with design concepts including design patterns, distributed systems, and multitasking/threaded systems; he has worked with J2EE, EJBs, RMI, CORBA, and JavaBeans standards, and with methodologies including Rational Objectory Process (Spiral model), Structured Analysis and Design (Waterfall model), XP (Extreme Programming) and design tools Eclipse, CVS, Visio, Rational Rose, and ObjectMaker. August works with development frameworks Spring, Struts, JAXB, and Hibernate and development platforms Weblogic 8.1, MySQL 5.5, Oracle 8i, UNIX, and Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista, his other technical skills include analog/CDMA cellular optimization, Blowfish encryption, SQL for Oracle, and Unicode. August received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and earned his M.S. in Computer Sciences at the Illinois Institute of Technology.


Jennifer Stuart


Jennifer Stuart joined Clovis as an Account Executive in April 2010, and has account responsibilities for clients including Brinks, Hofer, Gilson & Lione, HSA Commercial Real Estate, Glencoe Capital and The Eleanor Foundation. She focuses on new communications projects for clients, including interactive business media, social media, and integrated communication strategies. Jennifer joined us after spending four years at the Chicago office of Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C., one of the largest labor and employment law firms in the country.

Jennifer earned her M.A. in Public Relations and Advertising from DePaul University in June 2009; her coursework included studying international marketing operations in a program in Paris, France, in the Driehaus Center for International Business at DePaul. She earned her B.A. in liberal arts at Columbia College Chicago and is active in the arts community in Chicago. She is also a member of the Steppenwolf Auxiliary Council.
